- The Nigerian government assures Binance Executive Tigran Gambaryan is lawfully detained and has access to quality healthcare
- Minister Idris emphasized Gambaryan’s court-ordered detention and Nigeria’s commitment to justice and protecting his legal and human rights
The Federal Government of Nigeria has clarified that Binance Executive Tigran Gambaryan is lawfully detained and has access to quality healthcare while in custody.
In a statement released on Friday, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, dismissed claims that Gambaryan is being held in poor prison conditions or that his health is declining. Idris emphasized that Gambaryan is receiving full consular services from his home government. He assured the Nigerian government is committed to safeguarding his fundamental rights, including access to lawful trial and proper healthcare.
“It is worth reiterating that his detention is court-ordered, and only the court can alter the terms or direct his release,” Idris stated. “The Federal Government of Nigeria will continue to follow due process in its quest to bring Binance to justice—a legitimate sovereign quest that is similarly being pursued in several other countries worldwide.”
Idris highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to upholding justice and maintaining the integrity of its judicial processes, ensuring that Gambaryan is treated fairly and that his legal and human rights are protected throughout the proceedings.
