- Bayern Munich nears the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, beating out competition from Chelsea and Newcastle
- Negotiations for Olise involve complexities due to his £60m release clause and contractual obligations with Palace and Reading
Bayern Munich is on the verge of securing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace as the talented winger opts to join the Bundesliga giants.
Earlier this month, Bayern, Chelsea, and Newcastle contacted Palace to express their interest in the 22-year-old.
Negotiations were anticipated to be intricate, given Olise’s release clause, set at around £60m. Various parties, including Palace, the player himself, and his former club Reading, are entitled to percentages of any transfer fees.
Last summer, Chelsea unsuccessfully attempted to acquire the French Under-21 international for approximately £35m, mistakenly believing they had triggered his release clause.
As a result, Olise signed a new four-year contract at Selhurst Park, extending his stay until 2027.
