  • Meeting is coming less than 24 hours after Buhari received Atiku Abubakar

Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai visited former President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday at his residence in Daura, Katsina State.

This is coming less than 24 hours after Buhari received Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was in Katsina State yesterday where he met with ex-president Muhammadu Buhari at his private residence in Daura.

He was accompanied by former Sokoto State governor, Senator Aminu Tambuwal and the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Umar Tsauri.

When asked the reason for the visit, Abubakar told journalists that he was at Buhari’s place to pay him Sallah homage.

He also visited the Emirs of Daura and Katsina, Alhaji Farouk Umar and Alhaji Abdulmumuni Usman respectively.
The former vice president’s visit to the emir of Katsina was to sympathise with him over the death of his son, Prince Abdallah, who died during the Sallah period.

He also paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Lawal Kaita, whose wife, Hajiya Yelwa, died a few days ago.

In addition, the presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2023 elections visited the family house of the late president Umaru Musa Yar’Adua to see his aged mother, Hajiya Dada.
