Bandits abduct 47 in Zamfara community attack

Bandits terrorising Zamfara State have struck again in Maradun Local Government Area of the north west state.

At least 47 people were killed when the rampaging armed non-state actors attacked Danbaza community in the troubled local government.

A local, Mustapha Danbaza, disclosed that eleven people were abducted in one family during the Monday morning attack.

He further stated that a few weeks ago, a commercial vehicle loaded with passengers was attacked by the bandits in the same Danbaza, adding that nothing had been heard about the victims.

Maradun is the hometown of former governor Bello Matawalle, now Minister of State for Defense.

The enclave has been at the mercy of armed bandits for months now as locals are constantly attacked, abducted and in some cases killed.

The most recent attack unleashed by bandits in the area in Gora community, where several persons were abducted.

Janbako and many other villages have been under constant armed bandits attacks for months on end.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Yazid, said he would confirm the incident and report back to newsmen
