One Rabiu Ibrahim has revealed why he and his gang murdered Brigadier General Uwen Harold (retd.) in the Kabusa area of the Federal Capital Territory.
Ibrahim is one of the suspects arrested by the Abuja Police Command in connection with the murder of the retired General.
The suspect, while speaking with newsmen on Monday when he was paraded, revealed why they killed Harold by stabbing him multiple times.
Ibrahim said they attacked the victim with knives when he attempted to kill them with his gun after which they made away with the victims
phone and a laptop.

Narrating the incident in Pidgin English (now translated) while fielding questions from journalists, on Monday, Ibrahim said, “My name is Rabiu Ibrahim from Kano. I was arrested for robbery. We stole his (the Gen’s) phone and laptop. We had two knives with us. It was Kazeem who stabbed him in the belly and I stabbed him in the arm. The reason why we stabbed him was that he brought out a gun. We killed him because he had a gun.”
Within Nigeria had reported on Monday that police operatives in the FCT, on Sunday, arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of Harold at his house in the Kabusa area of the FCT.
Speaking while parading the suspects in Abuja, the FCT Police Commissioner, Benneth Igweh, said two other suspects who are at large had been declared wanted.
He stated that knives and the mobile phone of the late general were recovered from the suspects, assuring the public that the late general’s pistol would be also recovered from the fleeing suspects.
Igweh said, “Today, I want to inform you that we have caught the killers of the Brigadier General. They are Ibrahim Rabiu, Nafiu Jamil, Aliyu Abdullahi and Mohammed Nuhu plus two others that we are declaring wanted now; they were the people who raided his house and killed the General.
“We have recovered the knives they used in stabbing him, and we have recovered the phone of the General from them. Two of them have been declared wanted, we are getting them.
“They went with the pistol of the late General which I promise you that we are going to recover. They have confessed to how they did it.”
Igweh also disclosed that the police arrested the chief informant, logistics suppliers, and PoS operator working with some kidnappers in separate operations.
He added that one of the suspects, Sunday Musa, during interrogation confessed that he had distributed about N20m on behalf of the kidnappers.
“Sunday Musa A.K.A Dan Gwari is the chief informant and logistics supplier to the whole kidnapping groups under the general command of one Ardo, currently on the run. The suspect confessed to being the facilitator of the movement of nurses, hard drugs and sex workers on request to the kidnapping groups.
“He is also the financial courier through which money is distributed or shared on request to the kidnapper’s families and he has distributed about N20m on behalf of the kidnappers.
“He confirmed that the group led by Ardo, the general commander, has over 15 members, all having AK-47 rifles and that there are subgroups under him. The suspect confessed to having received the cash sum of N300,000 once as compensation,” the police boss said
