- NASFAT plans to empower 600 youths with wealth creation training at its Youth Conference in Kano, focusing on practical skills
- Training includes converting tires into furniture, career skills like CV writing, and exploring freelancing platforms and software development
A prominent Islamic organization, Nasrul Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), is set to empower no fewer than 600 youths through wealth creation training to alleviate poverty among young people.
The training is a key component of the Nasfat Youth Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Kano from September 12th to 16th, 2024.
According to NASFAT’s National Youth Secretary and Amir, Bro Olasupo Tajudeen Olalekan, the primary objective of the training is to engage youths productively and equip them with practical knowledge essential for success in life.
As part of the pre-conference activities in Lagos, a Scrabble Novelty Match was organized. It featured Wellington Jighere, the reigning 2015 World Scrabble Champion, alongside Nasfat Games Scrabble Champion George Adeyinka Ibrahim. This event aimed to raise funds for the upcoming training.
Olasupo highlighted that the youths would receive training on practical skills, such as converting old tyres into furniture for homes and offices, alongside essential career skills like CV writing, cover letter preparation, and effective job interview techniques. Additionally, they will be trained in utilizing freelancing platforms like Upwork.
The training program will also include introductory sessions on software development, data analysis, and visualization. Moreover, participants will learn to leverage tools like ChatGPT to create e-books addressing common issues, which can be sold on platforms like Sellar.co and Amazon KDP. They will also be trained in building commercially viable TikTok channels.
This initiative underscores NASFAT’s commitment to nurturing a new generation of economically empowered youth through the acquisition of practical skills and knowledge.
