- PAP Administrator Dr. Dennis Otuaro pledged full support for the “Food Security is the Real Security” initiative
The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) and the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA) have entered into a partnership to enhance food security in the Niger Delta region through extensive agricultural activities. This collaboration aims to address the ongoing food crisis in the area.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between NDRBDA’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Prince Ebitimi Amgbare, and PAP’s Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, at the PAP office in Abuja. Dr. Otuaro assured Prince Amgbare of PAP’s full support for the initiative, dubbed “Food Security is the Real Security.”
In a press release signed by Otuaro’s Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Otuaro emphasized the importance of the project:
“This food project is laudable and will complement our mandate to foster sustainable security, stability, and peace in the Niger Delta while bridging the human capital development gap and empowering the region. As a programme, we have several vocational initiatives, including agricultural interventions and entrepreneurship. We have achieved a lot from our records, and we are committed to collaborating with NDRBDA, the pioneer interventionist agency for the development of the Niger Delta. We won’t work at cross-purposes.”
Prince Amgbare highlighted the importance of this partnership for the success of the food security project. He noted that his leadership at NDRBDA has established a structure to drive the project towards achieving its goals and stressed the necessity of collaborating with PAP to benefit the people of the Niger Delta.
