The University of Ilorin has named Olayinka Fafoluyi, a special aide to the Kwara State Governor, as its advocate.

Fafoluyi, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman, joins a prestigious group of individuals recognized for their outstanding achievements and contributions to society.

This distinction acknowledges Fafoluyi’s outstanding achievements and exceptional dedication to the fields of media and public relations.

Fafoluyi was unveiled alongside 22 others at an event held at the university’s auditorium where he was commended for his commitment to excellence, mentorship, and community development.

During the ceremony, where 23 notable alumni were honored, University of Ilorin’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wahab Egbewole (SAN), emphasized that the University’s advocates unveiling program aims to recognize and celebrate alumni who have made remarkable contributions to their professions, communities, and the university, leaving a lasting impact.

Some of the other alumni of the university appointed to the council include actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo; Seun Okinbaloye , Channels TV journalist, social media influencer Nosa Adeyemi, popularly known as Lasisi Elenu; Omololu Shomuyiwa, a former Big Brother Nigeria housemate; actress and filmmaker Bukola Awoyemi; actress and filmmaker Wunmi Toriola; and co-founder of Dukiya Investments, Lukman Shobowale, among others.

Professor Egbewole stated that the initiative aims to acknowledge and celebrate these individuals, promoting their achievements and inspiring current students.

He emphasized that as advocates, the honorees would serve as mouthpieces for the university, championing its values of excellence, integrity, and community engagement.

Through their leadership, expertise, and networks, they will play a pivotal role in promoting the institution and fostering collaboration, thereby enhancing the reputation of UNILORIN both nationally and internationally.

Fafoluyi’s recognition reflects his substantial contributions to his field and his dedication to fostering the growth and development of the next generation.
