We kill 177 terrorists in one week – Nigerian Army

  • Buba disclosed that 170 assorted weapons and 4,692 assorted ammunition were recovered from the terrorists.

Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed 177 terrorists in the last one week, the defence headquarters has said.

It also stated that 263 terrorists were apprehended during different operations carried out across the country in the same period.

The development is contained in a statement made available by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, on Friday,

Speaking while giving a performance review of the week, Buba disclosed that 170 assorted weapons and 4,692 assorted ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists.

Buba said, “During the week, troops neutralised 177 and arrested 263 persons. Troops also arrested 41 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 158 kidnapped hostages. In the South-South, troops denied the oil theft of the estimated sum of N501,089,400 million

“Furthermore, troops recovered 170 assorted weapons and 4,692 assorted ammunition. The breakdown is as follows: Six PKT guns, 63 AK47 rifles, three FN rifles, one SMG rifle, 29 locally fabricated guns, 37 Dane guns, 20 pump action guns, one short double barrel gun, two double barrel guns, two single barrel guns, one locally made single barrel, six locally fabricated pistols, four bandoliers, RPG bombs, RPG charger, two primed IEDs and materials.”
