The Bauchi State Police Command has made two significant arrests in its ongoing effort to combat crime in the state.
In a statement on Monday, Ahmed Wakil, spokesperson of the command said on July 7, 2024, a 30-year-old man, Mamuda Abubakar, was arrested for chaining his six-year-old son in their residence, a case of child abuse.
In a separate incident, a suspect, Adamu Alhassan, 30, was arrested in connection with the murder of a 60-year-old woman, Safiya Yunusa, who was attacked in her home.
The police recovered the weapon used in the crime and are working to identify additional suspects.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, has ordered a thorough investigation into both cases and urged the public to come forward with any information that can aid in the prosecution of the suspects.
The Bauchi State Police Command said it is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens and will continue to work tirelessly to prevent and investigate crimes.
