Governor Yusuf pledges to safeguard public funds in Kano

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has assured the citizens that their money will remain secure under his administration.

He emphasized that any acts of theft involving government funds will be met with stringent consequences.

Addressing the public on Saturday during the launch of the second phase of the women’s empowerment program at the Government House, Governor Yusuf declared, “This Government will not steal your money. Anybody who steals your money under our watch will be properly and decisively dealt with.”

Governor Yusuf highlighted that the funds entrusted to the government are being utilized to implement policies and programs aimed at improving the lives of the people.

“Your money put under our trust and care is safe and secure and is being used to implement policies and programmes that will improve your lives,” he stated.

During the event, the governor announced the disbursement of N260 million to 5,200 women across the 44 local government areas of the state. Each beneficiary will receive a grant of N50,000 to help start their own businesses and achieve self-reliance.

“This money we are giving you today is your money; you should not give it to anyone; it is meant to empower you to start your own businesses that will enable you to become self-reliant,” he added.

Governor Yusuf also noted that the government plans to continue this empowerment initiative monthly, ensuring that new sets of women from all 44 local government areas receive N260 million until the end of his tenure.

“You, alongside other people of our great state, voted us into power, as such, we are showing appreciation to you and we will continue to show appreciation for your gesture through the implementation of programmes that will improve your lives,” he added.
