- Babafemi cautioned travelers against accepting luggage or items from others
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have discovered parcels of cocaine concealed in the soles of shoes bound for Europe.
Femi Babafemi, NDLEA spokesperson, shared videos of the seized contraband on X on Sunday, revealing that tramadol pills were also found hidden in custard containers during a separate operation.
Babafemi cautioned travelers against accepting luggage or items from others, as they may unknowingly be transporting illicit substances.
In another operation, NDLEA operatives intercepted a consignment of 440 grams of Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, arriving from Canada to Lagos through a logistics company.
Additionally, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, NDLEA operatives in Edo State intercepted a vehicle at Ewu Junction, Esan Central LGA, based on credible intelligence. A search of the luggage belonging to Aminu Abdullahi, 32, revealed custard containers with 3,000 pills of tramadol 225mg buried in the custard powder. The suspect claimed the drugs were purchased in Onitsha, Anambra State, and were being transported to the Mararaba area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for sale.
