A statement signed by Gabriel Odu from the Media, Public Relations, and Protocols Unit of NiDCOM explained that the visit aimed to strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations between Nigeria and the UAE following the recent removal of the visa ban on Nigeria by the Arab country.

Dabiri-Erewa mentioned that NiDCOM plans to engage and sensitize Nigerians in the UAE to be good ambassadors, excel in their endeavours, and always remember their home country. She emphasized that this initiative aims to foster better understanding and compliance with local regulations.

She also revealed that 190 Nigerians had already been repatriated, with an additional 250 expected to return soon. She stressed that the actions of individuals in a host country can significantly impact the overall image of their home country.
