MACBAN youth leader killed in Plateau state

Yakubu Muhammad, a youth leader of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State, was reportedly shot dead by gunmen on Thursday evening.

The incident occurred around 7:40 pm in the Jebu area while Muhammad was at a tea stall.

Ya’u Idris, MACBAN chairman of Bassa LGA, confirmed the incident and described the killing as deliberate. He urged members to remain calm and reported the matter to security agencies, including Operation Safe Haven.

Garba Abdullahi, state chairman of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association (GAFDAN), condemned the attack and called for a thorough investigation. He appealed to the Fulani community to stay peaceful and avoid taking the law into their own hands.

Brigadier General M. O. Agi, Chief of Staff of Operation Safe Haven, expressed his condolences at the burial, highlighting Muhammad’s contributions to peace efforts. He assured that the incident would be thoroughly investigated to ensure justice is served.
