Aisha Abubakar, a women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, has confessed to being a major informant for bandits involved in several kidnappings across the North West State.
In a viral video, Aisha revealed that she was paid only N5000 for providing crucial information to the bandits, enabling their smooth operations. She disclosed that from a ransom of N9 million and a motorcycle paid to the bandits, she received a mere N5000.
Aisha specifically admitted to organizing the kidnapping of five members of the family of the APC Ward Chairman of Tsaiyaya, receiving the agreed amount of N5000. She also confessed to providing information leading to the kidnapping of Alhaji Sanusi, the APC Ward Chairman of Tsaiyaya, Matazu Local Government Area, along with his two wives and three children.
In the interrogatory video, Aisha also detailed her involvement in a cattle rustling operation, for which she was rewarded with N20,000. She stated, “I was also a key informant in the successful cattle rustling in Tsaiyaya some time ago, and I got N20,000 from that operation.”
She further revealed that she was approached by one Zainab, now at large, to provide information on Alhaji Sanusi and his family, facilitating a successful kidnapping operation. After the ransom was paid, she was given N5000 as her share, with a balance of N15,000 to be paid after her return from a wedding ceremony in Zaria.
Aisha also named other key individuals involved in providing information to the bandits within the Tsaiyaya community, including Yahaya, Audu na Bani, and Bashar’s children.
