The Senate on Tuesday passed the N6.2 trillion 2024 supplementary appropriation bill. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had requested an amendment to the 2024 budget, seeking N3.2 trillion for infrastructure projects and N3 trillion for recurrent expenditure.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio read Tinubu’s letter during a plenary session. The senators subsequently approved the N6.2 trillion appropriation bill.
This approval increases the 2024 budget to N34.7 trillion, up from the initial N28.5 trillion that the president previously signed into law.
