A notorious 57-year-old drug kingpin, Alhaji Sulaiman Jimoh, also known as Temo, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Lagos.
Temo, the leader of the Mushin drug cartel, was apprehended at his hideout after initial resistance from him and his associates.
The arrest took place on Monday, 22nd July 2024, around 10am, after NDLEA surveillance teams tracked him to Igbarere Street, Mushin.
Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, said Temo had evaded capture for years despite being linked to large drug consignments worth billions of naira.
Previous encounters with him had led to gunfights.
Significant drug seizures from Temo’s operations include 14,524.8 kilograms of Ghana Loud cannabis intercepted in January 2024, 8,852 kilograms of the same substance in May 2023, and 252 kilograms seized in July 2023.
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa commended the officers for their resilience and professionalism in capturing Temo without casualties, despite the violent resistance.
He warned other drug traffickers that the agency would continue its relentless pursuit.
