Coalition asks Tinubu to revamp cabinet, hails three ministers

The group appeals for dialogue to address planned protests against bad governance and escalating hardship.

President Bola Tinubu has been urged by the Coalition of Northern Youths Consultative Movement (CNYCM) to revamp his cabinet by appointing ministers who are proactive, visionary, and capable of implementing transformative changes.

In a statement issued at a State of the Nation press conference, the General Secretary of CNYCM, Bilal Galadima, and the Kaduna State Coordinator, Yusuf Audu, emphasized the need for a cabinet reshuffle to address the country’s pressing challenges.

“We urge President Tinubu to appoint ministers who are result-driven, visionary, and committed to the nation’s growth and development,” the statement read. “The likes of Tunji Ojo, Wike, and Umahi have demonstrated exceptional leadership and should be considered for key positions in the cabinet.”

The CNYCM reiterated its commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to address the nation’s challenges but stressed the need for a more dynamic and performance-oriented approach.

The Coalition hailed three ministers, including Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, Nyesom Wike, and David Umahi, describing them as Cabinet Champions with impressive contributions to the nation’s development.

The group has also appealed for dialogue regarding the planned protests against bad governance, which have created an atmosphere of tension and uncertainty nationwide, noting that the escalating hardship, characterized by skyrocketing costs of food, medicine, and basic commodities, has pushed many ordinary Nigerians to the brink.

It urged all stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue to address these pressing issues and work towards a united front for a better Nigeria.

CNYCM also expressed concern over the deteriorating insecurity in the country, particularly in the northern region, which it said has led to a rise in criminal activities among youth, including kidnapping and armed robbery.

The group urged the government to take immediate action to address the pressing issues, ensure the safety and well-being of citizens, and create opportunities for the youth.

”While the government has made significant progress in various areas, the current hardship and insecurity threaten to undermine its efforts.

”We call on the government to take immediate action to address these challenges and create a conducive environment for the youth to thrive.

”By sustaining its achievements and addressing the pressing issues, the government can ensure a brighter future for Nigerian youth and promote peace, stability, and development in the country”.
