The Kano State branch of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has mobilized a large contingent of 3,400 officers to ensure the safety and protection of individuals participating in the upcoming demonstrations across the state.

Speaking with NAN on Saturday, Mohammad Falala, Kano commandant of the corps, said that the security personnel would ensure security before, during, and after the protests in various parts of the state.

According to him, the command is working with other security agencies to ensure a crisis-free protest in and outside the metropolis.

”An operational order has been issued to Area Commanders and Divisional Officers across the 44 LGAs to provide security at public buildings such as markets, banks, churches, mosques, recreation centres, and motor parks,” he said.

Falala assured law-abiding residents of 100 per cent safety, stating that sufficient security personnel had been deployed to cover protesters.

The commandant, however, warned that any acts capable of causing confusion during the protest would not be tolerated, and that those disobeying orders would be arrested and prosecuted.
