Three out of the four House of Assembly members elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) along with their supporters.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Usman Yankwai, announced their defection during the APC flag-off campaign for the local government elections at Koko Besse Local Government Area. Yankwai stated that the three lawmakers from the opposition party decided to join the APC because of the leadership and performance of Governor Nasir Idris. The defecting PDP members represent Argungu, Bunza, and Yauri constituencies.
“It’s a testimony of the decision of the Assembly members to support Governor Idris’ mission and vision for the development and progress of Kebbi and its people,” the speaker said.

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning and former governor of the state, Senator Atiku Bagudu, praised the achievements of Governor Idris’ administration over the past year. Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, also expressed his excitement over the development recorded under the APC-led administration.
