FUDMA Registrar Iliyasu Falalu-Rafindadi passes away at 60

Iliyasu Falalu-Rafindadi, registrar of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State, has died at the age of 60 after a protracted illness.

The university’s spokesperson, Habib Umar-Aminu, confirmed the professor’s passing on Tuesday.

Born in 1964, Falalu-Rafindadi joined FUDMA in December 2011 and became its registrar on June 1, 2021. He previously served as the university’s academic secretary and establishment secretary.

Armaya’u Bichi, FUDMA’s vice-chancellor, expressed condolences to Falalu-Rafindadi’s family, calling his death “a great loss” to the university community.

Bichi praised the deceased as a “dedicated and hardworking staff member” who significantly contributed to the university’s development.

Falalu-Rafindadi was buried at Dan Marina cemetery in Katsina after a funeral service at his residence in the Rafindadi community of Katsina town.
