Hardship: Hungry Nigerians free to protest while we continue ‘eating’ – Akpabio

Godswill Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio says the administration of President Bola Tinubu has been good to him and other pro-government voices and they are impervious to the suffering of the masses.

He said aggrieved Nigerians can continue to protest while he and other citizens who are loyal to Tinubu will continue to eat from his government.

Speaking meeting with the NDDC executive management, Niger Delta ethnic nationalities, and other stakeholders in Port Harcourt, Akpabio said he and his contemporaries don’t want a regime change.

“We are not interested in regime change. Let us own this government. Those who want to protest can protest. But let us be there eating,” Mr Akpabio said on Tuesday.

He implored Nigerians to give Mr Tinubu’s administration more time so its policies could yield results.

“As the Senate president, I want to appeal to all Nigerian youths to give this administration an opportunity for most of the policies to mature,” Mr Akpabio said.

He added, “So the whispers of our nation are already receiving attention. The economic challenges are known to the president because all of us feel the impact of what is happening now.”
