- Government property, including the office of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency on Sokoto Road, was vandalized
The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 25 protesters following the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest on Thursday.
The protests, which began peacefully at the NEPA roundabout, turned violent as protesters attempted to enter the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House.
Government property, including the office of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency on Sokoto Road, was vandalized, with part of the office burnt and items stolen.
Chief of Staff to the governor, Sani Kila, denied reports of a 24-hour curfew, stating that the situation in the state was calm.
Police spokesperson ASP Mansir Hassan said those arrested had attempted to hijack the peaceful protest.
He warned that the command would not tolerate violence and that those arrested would face legal consequences. Hassan reaffirmed the police’s commitment to protecting citizens’ rights to peaceful assembly while ensuring public safety.
