The police in Abuja have gunned down a boy amid the ongoing nationwide protest.

The boy was shot dead around the Zenith Bank area at Kubwa in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, as the #EndBadGovernance protest enters the third day.

An eyewitness who spoke after the boy was shot said the deceased, who was shot at close range, was not part of the protest.

“The boy was not part of the protesters, he was coming on his own after the police had pointed gun at us from a different position,” the eyewitness said.

Earlier in the day, security operatives at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja fired live rounds at protesters and journalists.

The security operatives, who wanted to disperse the demonstrators, aimed at the protesters and the journalists who scamper for safety.

The protesters were reconvening after being dispersed by security agents deployed to the stadium.

Suddenly, masked security operatives suspected to be personnel of the Department of State Services started shooting sporadically at protesters.
