- The NYSC announced that polytechnic and mono-technic graduates must provide proof of mandatory one-year Industrial Training before participating in national service
- NYSC Coordinator Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa stated this directive aims to uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s education system and will take effect from the next orientation camp
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that graduates from polytechnics and mono-technics must provide proof of their mandatory one-year Industrial Training (IT) before participating in national service.
Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, the NYSC Coordinator in Lagos State, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos.
Baderinwa stated that the NYSC had issued a circular on this matter.
“It has been noticed recently that some polytechnic and mono-technic graduates do not complete the mandatory one-year IT before being admitted to HND programs,” Baderinwa explained. “The one-year IT is a prerequisite for HND. Graduates must complete the IT with evidence before pursuing an HND, and institutions must verify this before admission.”
She emphasized that this directive would take effect from the next orientation camp, and the NYSC will not register any candidate who has not completed the IT process.
“This measure aims to uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s education system,” she added.
Baderinwa noted that prospective corps members with HND qualifications must present evidence of their IT completion before registering at any NYSC orientation camp.
