The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrest of individuals linked to the display of Russian flags during protests in Northern states.
The protesters, who were seen in videos calling for military intervention, were brandishing Russian flags in Kano, Katsina, and Kaduna.
The secret service revealed that some tailors in Kano, responsible for creating the flags, have been apprehended along with their sponsors.
The police also confirmed the arrest of Ahmed Taylor, a resident of Kano, for producing Russian flags.
Muyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesperson stated that the motive behind the flag production and distribution is unclear, but emphasized that carrying foreign flags is a criminal offense.
He said the authorities have arrested 30 individuals in connection with the incident and are working to identify additional sponsors.
