The Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Oyetunde Ojo, has announced that the Renewed Hope housing construction across the country will commence in August 2024 with a groundbreaking ceremony in Kaduna. Ojo made this announcement during a three-day retreat for FHA staff themed ‘Enhancing Federal Housing Authority for Improved Housing Solutions in the Era of Renewed Hope’.
Despite its federal mandate, Ojo noted that upon resumption, the FHA’s operations were primarily restricted to Abuja and Lagos. He emphasized that the FHA has since decided to expand its presence nationwide as part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda on housing. This initiative aims to provide housing solutions in every state, regardless of political, religious, or ethnic background.
He said, “Given the enormous role the authority would be playing in the coming months towards providing livable and affordable housing to our people, which will commence this August, with the groundbreaking ceremony in Kaduna.”
Declaring the retreat open, the state governor, Senator Uba Sani, represented by the state deputy governor, Hadiza Balarabe, highlighted the urgent need for both federal and state governments to address the housing deficit. She added, “The Kaduna State government is ready to assist the federal government in bridging the country’s housing deficit.”
