Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has appointed a seven-member panel to be part of a joint committee tasked with probing alleged economic sabotage in Nigeria’s petroleum and gas industry. This follows the recent dissolution of an ad hoc committee previously set up by the House to investigate infractions in the sector.
According to a statement released on Friday by House Spokesperson Akin Rotimi Jr., the new appointees include House Leader Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, who will serve as co-chairman of the committee. Other members of the committee are Hon. Iduma Ighariwey, Hon. Gboyega N. Isiaka, Hon. Sada Soli, Fatima Talba, Hon. Tunji Raheem, and Hon. Patrick Umoh, PhD.
The statement emphasized the urgency and importance of this matter, highlighting the need for close collaboration between the Senate and the House of Representatives.
