Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on traditional rulers in the state to strengthen unity within their ranks.

The governor made this appeal during the coronation of his wife, Mrs. Ngozi Adeleke, as the Erelu Soludero of Erinmo Ijesa.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Tola Faseru, Adeleke expressed gratitude to the Elerinmo of Erinmo Ijesa, Oba Odunayo Ajayi, for bestowing the title on his wife, highlighting it as a gesture of respect and affection towards his family.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, in Osogbo on Saturday, Adeleke congratulated his wife and acknowledged the importance of the title. He emphasized that this recognition reflects his administration’s and the Adeleke family’s ongoing commitment to supporting the people of Osun State.

Governor Adeleke also marked the royal father’s coronation anniversary by underscoring the vital role of traditional institutions in community and state development. He praised the counsel and moral support provided by royal fathers, which, he noted, are crucial for stabilizing governance and promoting effective administration.

The governor reaffirmed his government’s commitment to collaborating with traditional rulers and seeking their wisdom in governance. He urged traditional councils to avoid actions that could lead to disunity, warning that internal divisions could undermine the influence of royal institutions on government policies. Adeleke expressed concern over growing signs of division within traditional councils, stressing that unity is essential to maintaining the integrity of Osun’s traditional institutions.
