- He bemoaned the fact that things have changed and people are no longer conservative and practical in their deeds and actions especially in matters of matrimony.
The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has expressed his revulsion at the contemporary practices and culture that typified wedding plannings, arrangements and ceremonies.
He particularly scoffed at the idea of women doing make-up to enhance their beauty before their weddings.
He stated that such practice amounted to questioning the work and creation of God, saying those who indulge in it are fools displaying disbelief in God who created them.
Pastor Adeboye said he is disconcerted by the activities people engage in in the name of wedding these days.
He spoke at the RCCG ministers’ conference at its National Convention on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
He bemoaned the fact that things have changed and people are no longer conservative and practical in their deeds and actions especially in matters of matrimony.
According to Pastor Adeboye: “It wasn’t so in the beginning. When you marry, you cut your coat according to your clothes.
“Some of you want to be like the people of the world. I can’t even imagine some of the things I see now.
“People spend hundreds of thousands of naira on ‘shoot out’ (photo shoot). And then on the day of the wedding, the girl put on all manner of decoration.
“Those who do make-up are those who do not believe God did a good job.
“When God created you, He did a great job, you are wonderful, perfectly made and you cannot find any other fellow like you, you are special.
“When you begin to paint, and you think you can improve on what God has already done, you are a fool. You can never improve on what God has done.”
