The Ogun State Police Command has detained two women, Ogungbesan Joy and Joseph Naomi, in connection with the alleged abduction of two Chinese expatriates, Chen Wenguang and Liang Ding, in the Kémta/Abule-Owu area along Onigbedu Road.

The expatriates, who were on their way to visit the women, were reportedly abducted by suspected kidnappers at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday after leaving their workplace at Good One Carton Company.

A police source revealed that Wenguang and Ding had left the company without notifying security personnel, including police and military assigned to the facility, and mentioned to a few people that they were heading to Kémta Village, about a kilometre away, to visit friends.

State police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and stated that the kidnappers had contacted the company to demand a ransom for the release of the two men. Despite extensive search efforts by local security forces, the abducted expatriates remain missing.

Odutola also confirmed that the two women had been brought in for questioning as part of ongoing efforts to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
