- Tottenham Hotspur has suspended Yves Bissouma for inhaling laughing gas, despite his apology for a “severe lack of judgment”
- Manager Ange Postecoglou emphasized the need for Bissouma to rebuild trust with the team following his controversial behaviour
Tottenham Hotspur suspended midfielder Yves Bissouma from their upcoming Premier League match against Leicester City on Monday after a video showed the player inhaling laughing gas.
The decision was made despite Bissouma, 27, apologising for what he described as a “severe lack of judgement.” The video, which he posted on social media on Saturday, shows him inhaling from a balloon, which is believed to contain nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas or NOS.
In the United Kingdom, possession of nitrous oxide for recreational use has been illegal since 2023, carrying a potential prison sentence of up to two years.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed the suspension, stating, “We’ve suspended him from Monday’s game.”
