A road accident in Ogun State has left one person dead and three other persons injured.

The incident happened along the Oru-Ijebu Igbo road in the Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The auto crash, which occurred at about 8 pm on Saturday, involved an unregistered Honda Accord vehicle and a motorcycle.

The driver of the car was said to have rammed into the motorcycle leading to the death of the deceased.

The accident, according to a Sunday statement by the spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi.

Akinbiyi noted that three persons were involved in the accident which left two persons injured and one person dead.

The TRACE spokesperson stated that the accident was caused by the reckless driving by the driver of the Honda Accord car.

He said, “A fatal road crash occurred along the Oru – Ijebu Igbo road near DePotter College of Health in Ijebu North LGA. The Vehicles involved are a HONDA Accord with no registration number and a TVS motorcycle with registration number JBD 142 VZ.

“According to an eyewitness, the accident was caused due to reckless driving on the part of the Honda Accord driver.

“Three persons were involved in the accident. Two persons sustained varying degrees of injuries while one person died.”

He added that the injured victims were taken to the Ijebu-Igbo General Hospital while the remains of the deceased was deposited at the mogue of the same hospital.

“Injured victims have been taken to the General hospital at Ijebu Igbo for treatment and the body of the deceased was deposited at the hospital’s morgue,” Akinbiyi noted.
