- A building collapse in Dambatta, Kano State, killed two siblings and left three others critically injured during a severe downpour
- The father of the victims appeals for government assistance to rebuild their home after the tragic incident that claimed his children
A devastating building collapse claimed the lives of two siblings in Kano State’s Dambatta Local Government Area over the weekend. The tragedy occurred during a severe downpour that caused part of their two-bedroom house to collapse while the family slept.
Three other children from the same family were also trapped under the rubble but were rescued. However, they remain in critical condition.
Malam Ikramatu Dambatta, the father of the victims, shared the harrowing experience. He recounted how, with the help of neighbours, they managed to save the three trapped children.
“The wall fell on us as the rain poured. Before we could even understand what was happening, two of my children had already died. But, we managed to save three others,” said the heartbroken father.
Malam Dambatta has appealed to the government and kind-hearted individuals for assistance in rebuilding his home, which consisted of only two rooms.
