Ohanaeze Ndigbo pays condolence visit to late President General Iwuanyanwu’s family

Jidechukwu Iwuanyanwu, the first son of the late Igbo leader, expressed gratitude for the visit

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, paid a condolence visit to the family of its late President General, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, in Owerri, Imo State.

In a statement released on Wednesday by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, it was revealed that the visit took place on Tuesday, led by Ambassador Okey Emuchay, the Secretary General of the organization.

Emuchay expressed that Iwuanyanwu’s passing is a significant loss to the Igbo nation, describing it as a “death too many” that has left the community in deep sorrow. He reflected on the late leader’s enduring commitment to the Igbo cause, highlighting his dedication and passion for the well-being and advancement of the Igbo people.

“Ahaejiagamba was an extraordinary individual, deeply committed to the Igbo cause in every aspect. He built genuine relationships across diverse fields and used his business and political influence to serve Igbo land. His thoughts and actions were centered on the welfare of the Igbo until his last breath,” Emuchay said.

He emphasized that the most fitting way to honor Iwuanyanwu’s memory is to carry forward the visionary programs and ideals he championed within Ohanaeze Ndigbo for the betterment of the Igbo people.

Acknowledging the profound sadness caused by his death, Emuchay noted that while death is an inevitable reality, the memories of Iwuanyanwu’s impactful life will remain a source of solace. He assured the family that Ndigbo worldwide would work together to give their leader a befitting farewell.

In response, Jidechukwu Iwuanyanwu, the first son of the late Igbo leader, expressed gratitude for the visit and the comforting words from the Ohanaeze delegation. He mentioned the global outpouring of support and emotions since the passing of his father.

The late leader’s wife, Mrs. Frances Iwuanyanwu, who was visibly moved, also extended her appreciation to the delegation for their visit and support during this difficult time.
