Nigerian police have conducted a search of the residence of Drew Povey, owner of Ivy Valley Books in Abuja, in connection with the #EndBadGovernance protests and alleged terrorism financing.

Earlier, a similar search was carried out at the home of Helen Batubo, Principal of Stars of Nations Schools in Nasarawa State, also related to the protests.

Batubo, who is the step-daughter of Drew Povey, had been invited for questioning by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Response Team, over allegations including conspiracy and cybercrime.

According to sources, Povey’s home was searched by police officers on Wednesday morning, although he is currently outside the country.

Ivy Valley Books was opened in 2017 on a not-for-profit basis and is located in the Nigeria Labour Congress’ Labour House in Abuja.
