At least four persons have lost their lives in a boat accident in Taraba State.
The victims, two women and two children, died when their engine boat capsized on the Benue River in the middle belt State.
The victims were said to be traveling from Mayoreneyo town in Ardo-Kola LGA to Belengo town in Karim-Lamido when the tragic incident happened.
Alhaji Jidda Mayoreneyo, the chairman of Engine Boat Operators in Taraba State, said while other passengers survived, the four fatalities were confirmed dead.
This is the latest in the spate of waterway related accidents in recent months. Earlier in the month twenty people died after a boat exploded and sank in Bayelsa state.
Last week, at least four people died after after a boat capsized in Sokoto State while two persons also died in a boat mishap in Jigawa last month.
