  • Senator Barau Jibrin announces the distribution of 23,644 bags of rice to needy residents in Kano State, ensuring equitable allocation
  • Recipients must present valid identification to receive their 25kg bags of rice, promoting transparency and fairness in the distribution process

Deputy Senate President and Chairman of the Federal Government Palliatives Committee for Kano State, Senator Barau Jibrin, has announced that 23,644 bags of rice, each weighing 25kg, have been allocated for distribution to the needy residents of Kano State.

During an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, Senator Jibrin explained that rice distribution will be conducted equitably across all wards in the state’s 44 local government areas. To ensure that the palliatives reach those who truly need them, recipients must present a valid means of identification, such as a national identity card, driver’s license, voter’s card, or international passport.

“We have carefully developed a strategy to ensure that these palliatives reach the people who need them most,” Senator Jibrin said. “The mandate from Mr. President is clear: distribute these items directly to the people. Each beneficiary will be recorded on a list, and after verifying their identity, they will receive a 25kg bag of rice. Complete with signatures, this list will then be submitted to the local government committee and the state committee.”

The distribution committee includes members from various political parties, such as the All Progressives Congress (APC), New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as representatives from the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), traditional leaders, and religious leaders.
