Two killed in another ogun truck accident, driver flees scene

The incident occurred early Friday morning

Less than 24 hours after a fatal truck crash in the Lafenwa area of Ogun State that claimed four lives, another truck has caused the deaths of two people in the Papalanto area.

The incident occurred early Friday morning, involving an Iveco truck with number plate KJA 166 XJ and a tricycle with number plate TRE 627 VP.

According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), the accident was caused by dangerous driving.

The truck, while attempting to overtake the tricycle, dragged it along before running over it, killing a grandmother and her granddaughter who were the tricycle’s only occupants.

The truck driver fled the scene immediately after the crash. The deceased were handed over to their families, while the injured tricycle driver was taken to a hospital by a good Samaritan.

Akinbiyi urged motorists to drive responsibly, stressing that reckless driving has severe consequences.
