The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has confirmed the arrest of PIDOM, a well-known whistleblower who is recognized for exposing corruption and leaking sensitive documents concerning the federal government, security agencies, state governments, and private companies.

PIDOM, who had previously boasted on social media that he was untouchable and described himself as a “breeze,” suddenly disappeared from online platforms, raising concerns about his safety. Investigative journalist David Hundeyin first raised the alarm.

In a statement released on Saturday, the NPF’s spokesman, Assistant Commissioner of Police Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest. He stated that PIDOM, whose real name is Bristol Isaac Tamunobiefiri, was apprehended by officials from the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) on August 5, 2024, in his hotel room in Rivers State.

According to the police, PIDOM is facing several serious allegations, including unlawful possession of classified documents, cyber-related offences, and other charges that allegedly undermine the integrity of government operations. The NPF has pledged to conduct a thorough investigation into the case, emphasizing its commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring a secure nation for all Nigerians.
