PDP Nat’l chair, Damagum, others bent on destroying party – Melaye

Dino Melaye

Former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has stated that the current Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, national leadership is on a mission to destroy the party.

The is the second time in as many days that Melaye will take a swipe at the party’s leadership, accusing it of running the party in a manner that thwarts its growth, unity and stability.

On Saturday, the former lawmaker accused the PDP’s acting National Chairman, Illya Damagum, Samuel Anyanwu, and Umar Bature of destroying the former ruling party.

Melaye said the three chieftains have done irreparable damage to the PDP and the end of the party is near.

He also accused the PDP chieftains of commercialising and privatising the opposition party.

Melaye on Sunday said founding fathers of the party like Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, Sunday Awoniyi, Adamu Chiroma, Tony Anenih, and Abubakar Rimi would be fuming and rolling in their graves over what Damagum is doing to the party.

He noted that the former ruling party is now an obituary under the leadership of Damagum, Anyawu and Bature.

In his renewed attack, Melaye posted on X: “PDP is the only surviving party of the 4th Republic. After 27 years of surviving all shenanigans.

“Alex Ekwueme, Solomon Lar, Sunday Awoniyi, Adamu Chiroma, Tony Anenih, Abubakar Rimi, etc will be turning in their graves seeing what Damagun, Ayanwu and Bature are doing to the dream of building a national party. PDP now, Obituary.”
