- In a statement on Monday, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin cited Section 5(2) of the Board’s establishing law
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has refuted claims by some HND graduates that it is responsible for their inability to participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
JAMB clarified that its mandate is limited to undergraduate admissions and National Diploma (ND) courses, not Higher National Diploma (HND) admissions.
In a statement on Monday, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin cited Section 5(2) of the Board’s establishing law, emphasizing that JAMB has no role in postgraduate or other tertiary institution programmes.
JAMB explained that some students were admitted to ND programmes without its involvement, and while it later endorsed these admissions, it has no connection to their subsequent HND admissions.
The Board called accusations against it “preposterous” and warned that some candidates may face consequences for crossing “the lines of criminality.”
