Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for surpassing the 35% affirmative action benchmark for women’s inclusion in governance.
Farauta made these remarks during a meeting with the Society for Women in Taxation (SWIT) in her office, emphasizing the governor’s dedication to gender mainstreaming.
“Governor Fintiri has demonstrated exceptional support for women, exceeding our expectations,” Farauta said. “With a female Deputy Governor and women serving as vice chairpersons in all 21 local government areas, we have surpassed the 35% target.”
Farauta also promised to provide guidance and mentorship to women in the state, creating a supportive environment for their growth.
SWIT State Coordinator Grace Benjamin outlined the organization’s objectives, including promoting active participation in the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CITN) and other professional tax bodies. Benjamin also expressed the group’s readiness to advocate for increased women’s involvement in tax payments.
