- The service responded to 11 emergency calls throughout the month
The Kano State Fire Service reported that it saved three lives and protected properties valued at N102.9 million in 21 fire incidents across the state during August.
This was revealed on Tuesday by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi.
Abdullahi disclosed that three lives were lost and property worth N47.8 million was destroyed by fire during the same period. The service responded to 11 emergency calls throughout the month and recorded no false alarms, which the agency attributed to heightened public awareness.
He reminded the public of the importance of fire safety, urging residents to exercise caution. “We call on the general public to handle fire with care and ensure that electrical appliances, gas, and generators are turned off before leaving their homes,” Abdullahi advised.
