Vice-President Kashim Shettima and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar paid their respects at the funeral service of the late Dada Yar’Adua, mother of the late former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
She passed away on Monday at a hospital in Katsina after a short illness.
The funeral prayer took place at the Katsina township stadium in the Yar’Adua quarters.
The service was attended by Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Katsina Governor Dikko Radda, and other notable figures.
Also present were LP’s vice-presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, former Kebbi Governor Adamu Aliero, businessman Dahiru Mangal, family members, friends, and state residents.
The late Dada Yar’Adua left behind a legacy of accomplished children, including a president, a two-term governor, a vice-president, a minister, a major general, and a colonel.
She lived a long life of 102 years.
