LP crisis: ‘Illegal’ – Abure slams Gov Otti’s over stakeholders’ meeting

Labour Party Chairman

The national chairman of the Labour Party, LP, Julius Abure, has described as illegal and unconstitutional the LP stakeholders meeting summoned by Governor Otti of Abia State’s Governor Alex Otti.

Otti had called for the stakeholders meeting in Umuahia to address the crisis rocking the party’s leadership.

At the meeting, a caretaker committee was appointed to oversee the affairs of the party and conduct fresh convention.

However, in a statement by the publicity secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, Abure disassociated himself and the party from the outcome of the meeting.

Abure implored Nigerians to disregard the gathering and its resolutions as it was not organised by the party and therefore does not reflect its position or interests.

“The Labour Party disowns the outcome of the Umuahia stakeholders meeting convened by Governor Alex Otti.

“The meeting is illegal and unconstitutional, and we urge our members to disregard any resolutions from this gathering,” the statement added
