  • The National Unity Forum congratulates Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi on his appointment as the new Director General of the DSS
  • The Forum praises President Tinubu’s decision to appoint Ajayi, expressing confidence in his ability to address Nigeria’s security challenges

The National Unity Forum (NUF), a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Nigeria’s unity in diversity, has congratulated Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi on his appointment as the new Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Forum’s National Coordinator, Comrade Godwin Meliga, the NUF commended Mr. Ajayi’s strong background in the security sector and highlighted his exceptional leadership skills, professionalism, and dedication to Nigeria.

The statement emphasized Mr. Ajayi’s extensive experience and deep understanding of Nigeria’s complex security landscape, making him an ideal choice to lead the DSS at this critical time. Comrade Meliga noted that Nigeria is currently facing serious security challenges, such as the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East, banditry in the North-West, and other organized crimes across the country. He expressed confidence that under Mr. Ajayi’s leadership, the DSS would collaborate effectively with other security agencies to develop and implement strategies to address these issues and restore peace and stability.

The Forum also praised President Tinubu for his thoughtful decision to appoint Mr. Ajayi, describing it as a clear example of the President’s ability to match individuals with the right expertise to crucial positions. The NUF lauded the President’s commitment to ensuring that key roles are filled by capable professionals who can advance his ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ and drive the nation forward.

The NUF called on all DSS operatives to fully support Mr. Ajayi, emphasizing that collective effort and unity of purpose are essential for the success of his mandate. The Forum also pledged its unwavering support to the new DSS DG and encouraged all Nigerians to rally behind him, underlining that national security is a shared responsibility.
