The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Godgift Bai, in connection with the circulation of an explicit video featuring a young woman on social media.
Bai, a 24-year-old from Ogbolomabiri in Nembe Local Government Area, was apprehended in Yenagoa following investigations by the police’s Cyber Crime Unit.
ASP Musa Mohammed, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest, crediting the efforts of the unit under the directive of CP Alonyenu Francis Idu.
The police emphasized their commitment to tackling cybercrime and protecting citizens’ privacy.
The suspect is expected to be charged in court soon.
