The Sokoto State Government has provided 20 Hilux vans and 710 motorcycles to its newly formed Community Guard Corps in an effort to combat increasing banditry.
The vehicles were handed over by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Col. Abdul Usman (retd.), to commanders from 13 Local Government Areas heavily affected by insecurity.
Usman, represented by the Director of Security Matters, Almustafa Sayudi, stressed that the vehicles and motorcycles were for official use only and urged proper maintenance.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to securing the state, highlighting the corps’ role in supporting conventional security forces.
