The Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) has expressed concern over the current state of Nigeria, urging President Bola Tinubu to address the growing hardship faced by citizens.
In a statement released by its General Secretary, Oladipo Oyewole, the YCE acknowledged hopes for a positive turnaround but stressed that widespread suffering continues to affect Nigerians.
The YCE highlighted the impact of erratic electricity supply and the recent increase in the price of petroleum products, which they believe has worsened the daily lives of the people.
They called on the Federal Government to deliver meaningful relief, not through palliatives that fail to reach those most in need, but by implementing effective governance measures that improve living conditions.
The Council urged President Tinubu to prioritize both the immediate needs of the populace and long-term development goals.
They emphasized that prompt action is required to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians and enhance the nation’s welfare.
The YCE concluded by stressing that substantial administrative efforts are needed to restore dignity and improve the quality of life for citizens, urging the Presidency to act swiftly in addressing these pressing concerns.
